Hope you all had an awesome Christmas and I hope you all have something nice planned for the new year. I know we do
The new HoQ website is planning to be launched on Friday 20th January, along with all of the new Quake LIVE #HoQLeagues seasons. The new website features a brand new design and a entirely new back end and leagues and ladders system written from scratch.
We really wanted to launch the site this week (1st of January) but it’s been delayed simply by things taking longer than expected. We will do our very best to launch on 20th January.
In the mean time we’re trying to arrange a cup or 2 for you
Best thing about the new site is any new features we can come up with can be implemented easily so the site can be truly as fantastic as the Quake scene want’s it to be
HERE’S TO 2012 PEOPLE!!
Have a good one, from All the Team behind HoQ.
The #HoQLeagues Quake LIVE TDM 4v4 Signups will be open very very soon, we have a new head admin for the TDM, so can you all give a warm welcome to the awesome Nukm that I’m sure you all know of.
Nukm is being just finalising the rules etc (check out this forum thread on ESR) for the new league and the signups should be open within the next 48hrs!
The #HoQLeagues CA Quake LIVE Nations CUP is now in the playoffs stage and even soon to be in the semi-finals!!
Tonight we should see the United Kingdom vs Poland, hopefully Sunday night we will see Sweden vs Denmark and possibly even France vs Finland however those 2 matches are still yet to be 100% confirmed.
Hoping to see some cracking matches, oh and of course hopefully we’ll see the UK beat Poland
The HoQ website is still busy getting a complete new content and leagues system created from scratch along with a much nicer new design, the new website is aimed to be finished for around the same time as the CTF Season 2 finishing. At which stage there is plans for a Quake LIVE Nations CUP for Team DM, CTF and of course another Clan Arena Nations CUP (Don’t pester me, they are planned for the end of season 2 ctf which in theory is about 2 months away AFTER SUMMER)
The #HoQLeagues 4v4 Capture the Flag now has the draft divisions almost finalised for Season 2 and the 1st matchweek will be beginning on Monday the 1st of August.
Keep an eye on the site to make sure you don’t miss any deadlines!!
TDM Signups will be open in the next few days!!! \o/
After seeing the comments and getting a little bit of abuse about my choice for the UK team, I decided that whilst they couldn’t of been much further from true (friends list lmao haven’t played with half of them as they’re TDMers and DUELers fools). I have decided to change the shortlist of 8 to a new final selection of 6. I have dropped 4 people and replaced with a different 2.
This choice is completely my own, I have ignored some of the advice I was given.
Very sorry to the original 4, if you think I shouldn’t of done it, I don’t care what you think, why don’t you choose the team next season? Thanks.
I have made a shortlist for the UK CA team before actually picking the final 5/6.
I would like to get this team of 8 to play in one final trial on this Tuesday night (3rd May) at 8pm in #QL.UK on irc, I will arrange a nation team or 2 for us to practice against and will do 2 x best of 3 games with 2 different teams from the chosen 8.
The chosen 8 are:
zsx
Carda
Envyy
Betija
Raw
Gaz
Daviez
Slu
Sorry to those that didn’t make it, one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to do is pick this team, I mean I’m still only down to 8!!!
Please make sure to idle in #QL.UK for Tuesday night, PM me if there’s any problems with Tuesday night for you.
After four days of highly competitive gaming, the UGC ended last week with a result that perhaps not everyone was predicting.
Cypher managed to overcome the two times IEM World Champion rapha in a comfortable 2-0 victory (16-2 on hub and 6-1 on dm13). The two also met just before the final in the Winners Bracket Final where Cypher managed to win 2-1 (0-6 on lost world, 15-13 on aerowalk and 4-2 on furious heights).
Having been pushed down to the Losers Bracket by Cypher, rapha had to play against strenx, who had been playing well all tournament. Unfortunately for strenx, rapha was simply too strong and won 2-0 (12-2 on furious heights and 18-7 on hektik), leaving him to take his place in the final against Cypher.
The final standings were:
1st – Cypher ($3,100)
2nd – rapha ($1,600)
3rd – strenx ($1,000)
4th – k1llsen ($500)
5th – spart1e ($200)
6th – fazz ($200)
7th – dem0n ($200)
8th – madix ($200)
Congratulations to Cypher and well done to all of the participants. Thanks should also go to the UGC for organising another major Quake Live event.
